UPLOADING RESULT FILES TO SOBELL WEBSITE
Procedures for uploading the results to the Sobell Bridge website are as follows:
2006nov23a.htm
for Section "A"s, Friday Afternoons and Single
sections.
2006nov23b.htm for Section "B"s and
Friday Evenings.
Contact me for weekend and other special event files names.
You need FTP software to upload your files. One can be downloaded from the internet free of charge. Once set up, uploading takes seconds and is trouble free. Visit www.coreftp.com to download the free software. Contact me if you need any help.
Now you are ready to upload your file to the website as follows:
Start CoreFTP. You will see the "Site Manager" window.
Click on NEW at bottom left. A "New Site" will be seen in the left plane.
In the Right Pane fill the boxes as follows:
SITE NAME: Results
Host/IP/URL: ftp.results.sobell-bridge.org.uk
USERNAME: uks63868
PASSWORD: [Phone me to get this]Leave the rest of the settings as they are.
Click CONNECT.
If you are successful you will see comment lines above the two panes as shown in the Figure below. No warnings in red.

In the left panel you will see what is in your computer’s folders. Choose the folder you have saved your results in. If you use a floppy disk or memory stick then you have to choose drive A (floppy) or whatever letter your memory stick defaults to.
In the right hand panel you will see the files already on the web site. Again you have to choose the correct folder. Result files will be uploaded to the relevant quarterly results folder – currently "data_oct_dec_08".
If in the folder window you see "/" , click on "HTML" folder listed below.
Click on "results.sobell-bridge.org.uk" folder listed below.
Click on "data_apr_june_08" folder listed below.
Now you will see the result folders already on the website listed. (If you go to the "Advanced" tab in the Site Manager you will be able to set your default folders)
In the top address it will say something like '…/data_oct_dec_08'.
Now find your file in the left panel, click on it and drag it across to the right panel and drop it anywhere among the other files. You will now see your file appearing on the right panel.
That is all.
Quarterly data files change every three months hence you will not see any file listed at the beginning of each quarter.
Regards
Rob
